  • Yamaguchi Maho is employed in the online publicity for Suntory’s canned wine product “ONE WINE”
  • It looks like that a message of support towards Yamaguchi Maho was displayed on screen on the Shibuya Ai Vision, back on September 17 [note: Maho’s birthday]
  • Sugahara Riko’s Tweets
  • Hasegawa Rena’s Tweets
  • Blog entry by a person who followed from the audience’s seats the court proceedings between the Tsukuba University professor, and Vernalossom (formerly AKS) + the University of Tsukuba [note: over the deletion by the Tsukuba University of the professor’s dissertation papers on the NGT48 Assault Case from their online repository, after a complaint from Vernalossom, resulting in the professor taking the other two to court]
    • Turns out that Vernalossom’s attorney was not attorney Endo [note: who otherwise handled the lawsuit against the yakkais who committed the assault, and always appeared on media after each court session]
    • The statements submitted by both the University’s side and Company V’s side are completely foggy and nonspecific in their content
    • The statements from Company V’s side only say, essentially, that there was no secret accord going on with the University [to keep the dissertation deleted from the repository]; for more precise particulars they’ll give them in next session
    • On the other hand, the University said: “We decided not to have the dissertation papers be published on the repository anymore on account that it had not been accepted for review by the editorial committee”
    • Judge replied: “Given how dissertation papers are understood as being published at the personal responsibility of their author, it means that them being denied publication (or being deleted) on account of them not having been accepted for review by the editorial committee has no connection to the matter, does it?”
    • The University side was unable to provide a precise response to that
    • The judge tasked professor with the duty to demonstrate, for the next session, how there was a secret accord [between Vernalossom and the University of Tsukuba] in place
    • There was a proposal from the judge asking “May we arrange the points of contention, and conduct the next oral proceedings, via web conference?”, however the attorney from the professor’s side proposed back “Being this a case which is receiving a high level of interest in a societal way, we wish it to be held publicly”
    • Both the University side and Company V’s side wish to have a web conference, instead

Note: I try to repeat the Japanese thread as closely as possible here. Where I do make some editorial additions I’ll put them in [ ], though I do occasionally soften the posters’ tone.

Why is this here? My original announcement
