Ota Yuuri centering a cool song right after her transfer to Team N? Yes, thank you.
The original music video teaser for 焼け木杭 (yakebokkui / Embers), off of NMB48’s 20th single 床の間正座娘 (tokonoma seiza musume / Girl Sitting Seiza-style in the Alcove) immediately got my attention, and the full song didn’t disappoint — I love the aesthetic, the choreography, and the sound.
This second lyric translation felt a lot easier, though I’m not sure if the structure is just simpler than LGM’s, or if I’m getting better at this (hah). Aegisub didn’t like something about the video encoding, but hopefully the timing worked out alright.
I used the font Kozuka Gothic, which if not the same one from their title card, is at least pretty close.
