From Nogizaka46’s 6th single, 世界で一番孤独なLover (sekai de ichiban kodoku na lover / The World’s Loneliest Lover) is my second favorite Nogizaka song. Actually, at the end of last year I really did sit down and rank all the Nogi songs in my library. Without a doubt Another Ghost is #1, but this one is a respectable second, and with a much more memorable MV, too.
It’s a parade of beautiful solo shots of the top senbatsu members (though you’d be forgiven for thinking Nanamin is the center), great pouting from Maimai and Manatsu, and a simple but catchy group dance. This was the single (Girl’s Rule) that marked a turning point for Nogizaka, with Ikoma relinquishing her unbroken center streak to Maiyan. Despite the drama, this B-side really stands on it’s own.
There are already softsubs for Another Ghost available, but I couldn’t find anything for this iconic BMX ride through Shibuya. Inspired after coming back from Japan last year, I decided to make my own. The lyrics translation was graciously provided by @Silenka from Stage48, and I timed both versions of the video that are available. The “full” version is one on the original DVD single, in glorious 480i. The second version in 1080p I pulled from Nogi’s “ALL MV Collection”. Unfortunately they decided to edit out the canonical ending in this high-def re-release.
