Here’s a quick one — and come to think of it another Theater Edition song! My wife fell in love with the 2019 Request Hour performance of 抱きつこうか？ (dakitsukou ka? / Should We Embrace?) by the AKB 16th gen members, and eventually it pulled me in, too.
To be fair, as half of the double-center Zukky is pretty captivating. Which reminds me… I’ve been wanting to do some Team 4 songs, so maybe I should start with her center. Also Zunchan, who I’ve gotten to know as the loyal daughter of YuuNaa gets some nice screen time.
The song is originally from #好きなんだ (though I first encountered it on AKB’s most recent album, 僕たちは、あの日の夜明けを知っている ), and without an MV I decided just to use the Request Hour video. I really like the choreography and the outfits, though I wish I had a good full-length performance to go with.
The 16th gens seem so bubbly and to really get along in everything I’ve seen from them. There are also some pretty striking members here I feel like I should get to know. Though as the future of AKB, I”m sure I’ll be seeing them around.
