Footsteps is from Hinatazaka’s first single, Kyun, and features the five members that had regular modeling contracts.
Like a lot of Hiragana/Hinatazaka songs, this one didn’t catch me on first listen. In fact I just recently stumbled across it again, and I was really caught up in the rhythm of the lyrics. Similarly, I thought the MV was just ok at first blush, but going through it slowly, I appreciate how it’s simply yet beautifully composed.
That said, the main reasons I decided to translate this now were that it was stuck in my head, and that the lyrics are vastly simpler than my other project. Plus their new single Doremisolasido is on the way!
I used the font Myungjo Std, which is close, but not quite a match for their title treatment.
